Commercial Director – Biodentify (Delft)
We are currently seeking an experienced, driven and enthusiastic Commercial Director to help us grow our business.
Who are we?
Biodentify is a high-tech scale-up company in the energy business. We have developed a patented technology using microbial DNA analysis and Machine Learning to indicate presence of oil or gas presence. We help our customers to be more effective selecting well locations, minimizing drilling risk, saving costs and preventing negative environmental impact. After ample validation through a number of successful Proof of Concept studies in recent years, we are now well positioned to push forward and accelerate our business. We are an international business which is reflected in our staff, as well as our project portfolio.
What will you be doing?
As the Commercial Director you will be the driving force for business growth. You will work closely with the Managing Director to develop Biodentify’s sales & marketing strategy. Your primary focus will be on winning new business, using the exceptional results from recent PoCs. Key areas are the USA, NW Europe, and the Middle East. You’ll develop strong customer relationships and:
– Win pilot studies with new customers
– Expand business with existing customers
You will also play a key role in marketing Biodentify’s unique selling points and establish trust and authority in the Oil & Gas market through digital campaigns and presence at key trade shows.
As our microbial DNA analysis method with our Bio-database and advanced machine learning platform has a much wider application space than just Oil & Gas, our aim is to develop adjacent business lines, looking at opportunities to partner with research groups, universities, other SMEs, and where possible find national and/or EU grant opportunities.
Skills / Requirements
- Previous experience in senior sales and/or BD roles
- Minimum 10 years of customer relationship / sales environment experience (consultative selling)
- Experience selling complex technical solutions (software / data analytics / high-tech)
- Upstream Oil & Gas experience is a plus
- Microbiology background is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in negotiating and closing critical sales contracts
- Experience developing and executing a digital marketing strategy
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent English
